Destination Baba

Me: You girls are brave. You're strong. You're ...
Aimee: Anxious!
Lucy: you are being really mean today Aimee.
Aimee: don't even start with me today.

Marley chose a little realistic cat as a souvenir at the Green Turtle. Then we went to the beach and Marley stowed away her kitty in her beach hat and once left unattended a seagull swooped down and tried to carry it away. Only to drop it upon the discovery it was not food.
Side note: a seagull stole my hot dog once when I was on a beach with my dad at anna maria.
Me: I smashed a bug!
Marley: mommy you're tough.
Aimee: that's not so tough.
On the way to florida we had a car accident. 5 adults, 6 kids in our car. At least 4 other cars were involved. Impact at about 30 mph. It was awful. We got stranded for several hours in tiftin, Ga. I am thankful we all survived and none of the kids were hurt. Robyn had teeth knocked loose and a small bone broken and has had to have a few doctors/dentists work on it. She is in good spirits though despite her largely liquid diet.
We had a sister night out tonight with Robyn, Colleen, Brenyn and I and it was great. Predinner dessert at a gelato place, dinner at Moon under water and dessert at Old Farm ice cream. Nom :)

Priceless afterkidssleep talks each night too. Awesome!

Yesterday we went and saw Ringling Bros. Fully charged. It was our second Ringling trip with the kids except last time Marley was about 18 months old and Solo was in utero. I think he enjoyed it more this time. Especially since his favorite thing is animals and chief among them (as I have mentioned) is elephants. When he saw the first elephant he was out of his (my) seat and making his elephant noise and signing elephant.

Marley liked the "tiny-tinas". They are the brave ones who perform on "type-ropes". It is "very dangerous" but she liked it anyway.
Less than two weeks till we go to Florida. So excited to see Baba and her house!

What my kids is be is.

Joining the YMCA was a great decision.
Solomon loves to make animal noises. Particularly monkies, tigers, kittens and most of all the elephant. He surpasses most adults in his mimicry of the pachyderm. His kitten, however, sounds like it may have kennel cough.

While on the topic of Solomon let me understate my amazement that we are at the end of the second day of cold turkey weaning and we have had no major "arguments". I have not even had engorgement. So from 2-3 times a day to freedom... I mean weaned.

My kids are so different from one another.
The last few weeks our usual bed routine with Marley is Bob reads books and bids Marley goodnight and then I go and pray for our day and then recently I have begun to tell her impromptu stories about a topic she dictates. They are almost always about Princess Marley and never contain any deep social insights or anything. Puppies, picnics, lost kittens, cupcakes, other princesess. That is about it.

After the story though we blow each other kisses. Each night we blow different style kisses. Tonight I blew her a tight roper kiss where I blew the kiss and then balanced on my high wire from the door to her bed to deliver it. She sent me a butterfly kiss where she blew the kisses and then made fluttery hand motions. Other kisses have included lion, seal, penguin, ballerina, princess, dog, shinobi, etc. Awesome!
For the record I won Bob and i's first actual racquetball game. 15-13. *flex*

So I have been working on an art project that has consumed all my waking child free time. We got a YMCA membership and so far I love it. They watch the kids while I work out or sit in a hot tub? Deal.

Solo is sick with croupy stuff. Bob is still not getting replies to his resume. We are going to see Baba in a few weeks. Yayayyayayayayay!

God's blessings are too many to count.
