First day

Marley had her first day of firstgrade on Monday.  FIRST. That's like actual school with expectations and government creepers. She was all smiles before and after. Thankful she has her identical cousin in her class again this year and that I don't have to worry about it again for three years!

Solo had his first day of half day preschool today.  I cried.  He was so excited to get on that playground.  I couldn't even catch a picture of it.  After school Ms. Morgan Hof escorted him to my car and they were both all smiles. It made my heart glad. He was so super excited to tell me about fire drills and lunch time where he had two servings of ravioli.

Sage is a biter. I couldn't decide before but I'm going with the nickname Tiger.

He

He can heal things even when we are not aware they're broken. I will have faith! He won't leave me alone.

Luke 5:20-26
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”    The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”   Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?  Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?  But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”  Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

The engine of marriage

But, of course, ceasing to be ‘in love’ need not mean ceasing to love. Love in this second sense—love as distinct from ‘being in love’—is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by (in Christian marriages) the grace which both partners ask, and receive, from God. They can have this love for each other even at those moments when they do not like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself. They can retain this love even when each would easily, if they allowed themselves, be ‘in love’ with someone else. ‘Being in love’ first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep the promise. It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it. - C.S. Lewis

So thankful.

Philippians 1:20 NIV

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
....

You know what Sage Marie loves? The dog. LOVES. I've never seen her so tickled. She taught herself to army crawl just so she could get near him.
...

My wallet was stolen last night, my bank account drained. I'm thankful that my life hasn't led me down a path of desperation. I'm so blessed. Peace <3
...

I'm so looking forward to school but I'm lonesome for my kids already. Who will talk my ears off? Who will tell me all there is to know about angry birds and star wars legos?

I have a hope.

Romans 15:4-5 NIV

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.   May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,

Quacks

We got stopped 6 times in one grocery shopping trip by baby admirers.
...
I'm beginning to suspect that my dermatologist and I eat different sized peas.
...
I planted a sycamore seed 10 weeks ago and it is now a mighty tree standing in at about... a foot tall. Baby steps.
